Police officer shot at Virginia Tech Campus

Virginia Tech which has an enrolment of around 30,000 has issued a campus wide alert after a Police officer along with another possible person have been shot by an unknown gunman near the campus’ parking lot, The same parking lot where four years ago in 2007 the most deadliest shooting massacre took place in which 33 people were killed .

As the suspect remains at large, the campus alert is asking members of the faculty and students to stay inside and lock doors. 6 ATF agents are also on campus while 20 others are on standby. In the meantime FBI is also rushing down agents.

Collegiate Times, a student newspaper, tweeted a picture of a parking lot with what appeared to be a covered body on the ground, encircled by police tape.

The suspect is said to be a white male wearing gray sweat pants, a gray hat with neon green brim, a maroon hoodie and backpack.

The shooting comes on a day when Virginia Tech was appealing against the $55,000 fine by the U.S. Education Department in connection with the university’s response to the 2007 massacre.
