Unknown gunmen ambushed a security vehicle of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the vicinity of Aqsa Chowk, Rabwah, on Friday evening, injuring two individuals. The attack occurred at approximately 8:56 p.m. as a pickup truck belonging to the Hifazat-e-Markaz, a private volunteer security force of the community, transported personnel on duty.
According to police reports, suspects fired multiple rounds from 9mm pistols, targeting the vehicle from close range. Two individuals, aged 23 and 39, riding in the rear compartment, sustained serious gunshot injuries. They were immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where they remain in critical condition. Spent bullet casings and other evidence have been recovered from the crime scene.
Ahmadiyya community representatives described this attack as part of a pattern of targeted violence against Ahmadis, who endure systemic discrimination and are frequently subjected to hate-related incidents.
The community representatives claimed the attack to be a deliberate act of intimidation. Charges have been registered under Section 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code for attempted murder and under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act. Investigators said the assailants fled the scene on motorcycles and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend them.
