Taliban kill 21 kidnapped Pakistani soldiers

The bullet-riddled bodies of the personnel were found on Saturday night, two days after they were abducted from their military post located a short distance from Peshawar, the capital of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

On 27th December around 30 Taliban armed with mortars and rocket launchers launched an attack on two checkpoints south of Peshawar, killing two security personnel, wounding another and kidnapping 23 others.

Taliban lined up the Levies personnel on a cricket pitch and tied their hands with rope before gunning them down.

One man survived the attack uninjured, while a second officer was found badly wounded and has been transferred to Lady Reading Hospital in critical condition.

Local government official Naveed Akbar told AFP news agency.

“We found 21 bullet riddled bodies of security personnel a short while ago in an uninhabited area,”

The dead bodies of the killed were found in the Hassan Khel area near Peshawar.

“One was found alive but wounded and admitted to hospital while another managed to escape unhurt.”
