Ahmadiyya Muslims join relief efforts in quake-hit Kumamoto region of Japan

Muslims from one of Japan’s oldest Muslim Community have joined relief activities following two deadly quakes that hit southern Japan. On Saturday a 7.3 magnitude quake shook the city of Kumamoto, which had previously been hit by a magnitude-6.4 quake on Thursday night. According to local media reports over 9 people died in the first earthquake, and 33 in the second. Sources says at least 150,000 people have been displaced and are in need of accommodation and food. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community opens Japan’s largest Mosque

The largest mosque in Japan opened its doors on November 20 near the central Japanese city of Nagoya, heralding a new chapter in the East Asian nation’s relationship with Islam. Islam has never made more than a marginal impact on Japan, although the history of Japanese relations with Muslims stretches back further than most people imagine, the Japanese included.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community appeals for the release of Japanese hostage held by ISIS

In response to the Japanese taken hostage by ISIS, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Japan held a press conference in Nagoya,Japan and appealed for the release of of Japanese hostage. Mr Anees Ahmad Nadeem, National President & Missionary In-Charge of Jamaat Ahmadiyya Japan started the conference by a moment of silence for the two Japanese hostages and a silent prayer for their safe return home.

Historic reception held in honour of Khalifa of Islam in Japan

The World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and Fifth Khalifa, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad addressed an audience of more than 100 Japanese dignitaries and guests on 9 November 2013 at a Special Reception held at the Mielparque Hotel in Nagoya. During his address, His Holiness explained Islam’s true and peaceful teachings; he condemned all forms of terrorism and extremism; he spoke movingly about the Japanese people and he appealed to Japan’s leaders to strive for world peace.
