Indian Muslims upset after PM Modi sends greetings to Muslims

In an odd move Indian Muslim leaders have criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sending greetings to Muslims. In a letter written on 21st December 2015 Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for its religious tolerance and universal brotherhood. He wished success to ‘Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya Centenary’ celebrations which are taking place in Qadian this month. Thousands of Pakistani Ahmadis are also taking part in the celebrations.

Petition in Pakistan court seeks ban on Eid sacrifice by Ahmadiyya Muslims

A petition seeking directives for Chiniot police to prevent the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community from offering ritual sacrifice on Eid ul Adha was disposed of by Lahore High Court with a directive for the DPO to proceed in the matter in accordance with law. On receiving the order a few days before Eid, the DPO sought guidance from the inspector general of Punjab police. The DPO has yet to receive a response from the office of the IGP.

Thousands of British Muslims celebrate Eid at Morden Mosque London

Up to 15,000 Ahmadiyya Muslims have taken part in Eid ul-Fitr celebrations in London to mark the end of Ramadan. Thousands of worshippers had to go through metal detectors before entering the Baitul Futuh Mosque in Morden, south London – the largest mosque in western Europe.
