Hardline Islamic Cleric to start U.S. Speaking Tour

On April 6, Muhammad ibn Adam Al-Kawthari, a British cleric from the Deobandi movement, a hardline South Asian Islamic sect, will commence a three-day speaking tour, speaking at five mosques in New York and New Jersey, as well as at St Johns University in Queens. Muslims to host 9/11 Blood Drive at Capitol Hill

The Muslims for Life event that began in 2011 will return to U.S. Capitol once again this year to honor victims of 9/11 attacks. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. The 6th annual blood drive is being organized by the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in partnership with Red Cross. American teen beaten by Israeli Police and held without charge

In a family vacation gone terribly awry, a 15 Year old Palestinian-American Tariq Abukhdeir was savagely beaten by masked Israeli Police on Thursday evening in Shuafat, a neighborhood in East Jerusalem. Tariq Abukhdeir is the cousin of recent lynching victim Muhammed Abu Khudair who was abducted from his neighbourhood in East Jerusalem on Wednesday and hours later his charred body was found dumped in woodland on the edge of the city.

American Muslims attend White House Iftar Dinner

Last night President Obama hosted the annual White House Iftar Dinner honouring contributions made by American Muslims, President Obama also honoured the victims of 9/11 attacks as the tenth anniversary of the attacks approaches. He said “We must be the America they lived for, and the America they died for.” The audience consisted of Muslim Leaders, members of congress, activists as well as leaders of other faiths.
