Former President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf has issued a statement congratulating Donald Trump on being elected the 45th President of the United States. Musharraf, who also served as the Chief of Pakistan’s Armed Forces issued the statement through his Facebook page.
Pervez Musharraf said, “I congratulate President-Elect Donald Trump on his historic election as the President of the United States. I wish him much success in leading the way to renew the ties of United States with her time-tested allies & friends in the world, especially in South Asia.
I hope he will focus keenly to bring peace and stability around the world and demonstrate deliberate leadership in resolving the conflicts in the Indo-Pakistan subcontinent.”
Musharraf said, Pakistan and U.S. must work together to crush terrorism and eliminate extremism from a position of strength. He also urged the United States to not pull out its forces from Afghanistan.
